Token cost is frozen for the third year running.

As with all power consumers the energy costs for the Club have again risen sharply. We have also had to spend over £800 on a Health and Safety upgrade, fit new emergency lighting plus had a large increase in our building & liability insurance premiums. We have over the year rightly supported the junior’s, who are the future of the Club, with subsidised eye protection goggles and extra coaching. All this results in our fixed costs increasingly dramatically and leads unavoidably, for the first time in over 3 years, to an increase in the Club membership renewal fees. However, for the third year running, the Committee is pleased to say that the Court token costs will not increase.

Affiliation to Scottish Squash and Racketball.

The Club will continue to support & promote Squash and Racketball by re-joining Scottish Squash and Racketball. Membership supports the Scottish team & gives the Club access to subsidised Coaching & refereeing courses. Please note that basic Member’s data will be shared between the Club & Scottish Squash as the fee is linked to the membership total.

Welcome

With a new Squash and Racketball Season in sight the Club has again organised various Fund raising & Social events, so watch the notice board for details. As usual the monthly Prize Draw, monthly handicap tournaments and Coaching days will all be going ahead. However the Committee needs your support by attending the events and by entering the prize draw to raise funds to continue them in the future. With extra funding from the draw, more events can be organised to benefit everyone. Prize draw entry forms are easy to complete as they are on the same form as the membership renewals. Finally to give players access to a higher standard of Squash we will continue with a team in the Dumfriesshire Squash League.

Make the Club what you want it to be!

The Committee is keen to have new and fresh ideas to improve the Fabric, Playing & the Social side of your Club. Please forward any suggestions that you feel would benefit the Cub & the Committee will gladly use them if considered suitable.

The Club has a Face book site and a web site so please consider being part of it. The Subscriptions Secretary would greatly appreciate that if any e-mail addresses are completed very clearly. With correct e-mail address we can keep everyone informed of all future club events. We are also looking to have a regular newsletter and forwarding this by e-mail will be the fastest and most economical method.

Finally the Committee would like to thank you, in advance, for your continued support of the Club by renewing your Membership and also by entering the prize draw. The Committee hopes everyone will have an enjoyable Squash and Racketball season for 2011/2012
